A shitty cheesecake was a performance I had written and performed at the Toneelacademie in Maastricht, 2017. As the woman on stage talks about her regrets, a voice-narrator talks (in between the woman's regrets) about experiences like relationships, travels, accidents and other happenings, no matter how bad or weird, without any sign of regret.
This woman, filled with regret about the small, (to some) insignificant things in life, like watching a movie about mango worms on youtube, a bad purchase, spending time looking for a second sock or eating a shitty cheesecake, might be lacking something dear to us, but what?
What is worth regretting?
